Obama administration may take action on BCS

January 30, 2010

Healthcare, bailouts of banks and automakers, job creation and now the Obama administration is poised to take on the Bowl Championship Series (BCS).   The Justice department is reviewing a request from Senator Orrin Hatch to determine whether the BCS violates antitrust laws.

Just when you thought that the government could not reach any further into your life, they appear ready to take over and regulate the nation’s college football championship.  I think that everyone can agree that there are teams that should be playing for the Championship that do not have the opportunity.  However, do we really want Congress to get involved in determining how the Championship should be decided?
