Barak Obama was able to communicate a message of change that resonated with a majority of Americans.  Now his challenge is to implement a plan to resolve the economic crisis while dealing with the continuing security threats around the globe; including Iraq and Afghanistan.  The continuing conflicts in the middle east continue to be a devisive issue with Americans on both the left and the right.  Bottom line is that we are there….now how do we get out while maintaining the successes that have been achieved with the blood, sweat and lives of many brave men and women?  If the new administration is able to accomplish this, it will be a success. 

2009 will bring many challenges for us as a nation as well as us as individuals.  There are still many issues that divide us.  The abortion and gay marriage issues will never be solved by the governement.  These battles are going to be fought in the hearts and souls of each of us.  I will keep you all in my prayers as we work to overcome those challenges and find common ground to move the country forward in achieving an American where the sanctity of marriage is respected and every life if is afforded the dignity that it deserves.
